Sigiriya, the Lion Rock, is a fifth-century fortress-palace on a sheer rock column, with frescoes and a mirror wall. Nearby Dambulla's cave temples are filled with Buddha statues and painted ceilings. Habarana is the base for both, and the journey ends in Colombo.
